our resources
As part of our partnership with Imagine Canada, we will be providing a bibliography of resources specifically related to each workshop topic we present this year. All the resources will be available in our resource library and/or are free to download from Imagine Canada's Non-Profit Commons. To see our upcoming workshops, click here
Volunteer Centre Resource Library
The Volunteer Centre hosts a resource library – over 500 books, periodicals, reports and videos about volunteer management, board governance and non-profit management. A complete list of our holdings is available here. Members of the Volunteer Centre can take our resources out for a loan period of 2 weeks, for no cost. Anyone else is welcome to look at our library and read the publications in our office.

Nonprofit Library Commons
The Volunteer Centre of Guelph/Wellington is delighted to participate as a community partner in Imagine Canada’s nonprofit library network initiative. The Nonprofit Library Commons connects library users to free local sources of information on fund raising, volunteer and human resource management, nonprofit boards and governance and related capacity building resources for stronger, more effective nonprofit and voluntary sector organizations. Through the Commons, library users may also access the online catalogue of the Imagine Canada – John Hodgson Library, which holds the largest collection of Canadian nonprofit literature in the world. Eighty percent of the library's current titles are available in electronic format and are downloadable for free. Visit the Nonprofit Library Commons to find out more about the Network and its Community Collection and Community Workshop programs, and to browse the titles held by Volunteer Centre of Guelph/Wellington as part of its core Community Collection. Or visit us to use the collection, to find out about future workshops, or for help searching the entire holding of the Imagine Canada – John Hodgson Library. A dedicated work station is accessible via our office at 46 Cork Street East, Unit 1, in Guelph, Ontario.
